JCG Expeditions
JCG Expeditions is small company providing a professional and personal service on expeditions to Kilimanjaro and the Himalayas. JCG Expeditions is owned, organized, planned and led entirely by Jonathan Gupta. JCG Expeditions provides only a small number of well run expeditions throughout the year and, by keeping things small, we ensure each trip runs smoothly and professionally. We have high standards and expect our expedition members to receive a prompt and friendly service.
Our Leader
All JCG expeditions are led by Jon. We recognize that the expedition leader makes all the difference to your expeditions. Jon is not only the trek leader but is also there to ensure that your experience is comfortable, professional and enjoyable. Jon has an extensive set of hard skills but, more importantly, his attitude, attention to detail and ability to communicate, both with the expedition members and the guides and porters overseas, help him to stand out as a leader. If times get tough on any expedition, Jon will do everything required to make the experience enjoyable and memorable.
Since starting his career in the outdoors, Jon has put time and commitment into gaining outdoor qualifications and experience in all corners of the world. When not running JCG Expeditions trips, Jon works as a freelance UK Instructor and expedition leader. To date he has organized and led expeditions to Elbrus, Aconcagua, Kilimanjaro, Annapurna Base Camp and Toubkal. More recently he has lead schools’ expeditions to Iceland and, in 2010, to Greenland and Morocco. As well as travelling extensively through South East Asia, , South Africa and Europe, Jon has spent over 3 months living and trekking in the Jungles of Central and South America. In 2010, personal trips will see him in Alaska and, later in the year, the Himalayas.
JCG believes that, having been on expeditions to some of the remotest regions and harshest environments in the world, Jon has the experience to offer you a great expedition.
Local Teams
On almost all major expeditions, all over the world, the difference a good local team can have is unbelievable. They are fundamental to our expeditions and provide an outstanding service to aid you on your trek. We have built a very good relationship with our local teams and expedition members will enjoy a good relationship with them all and quite likely some singing and dancing! The guides, cooks and porters are incredible people and love to get involved as much as possible; your success is their number one priority.
Safety
JCG Expeditions takes the safety of its expeditions and UK training very seriously. Not only has Jon held first aid qualifications for over 8 years, but all necessary emergency equipment is carried at all times and we have an excellent safety record.
Group Sizes
Allowing expedition members to feel a part of the team is imperative to us. To ensure that every team member gets the attention they need from the leader, we limit the numbers on our expeditions to ensure we provide our promised personal service and quality.
Flights
JCG Expeditions currently does not provide flights. We have found that everyone has different plans and agendas both before and after the expeditions. So we leave the flights up to you, so you can go travelling whenever and wherever you like and add additional adventures onto your expedition. We do however send out a recommended outward flight so the team can travel out together if they wish, and we also specify the rendezvous point for the start of the expedition.
Prices
We believe that our prices are very competitive and, being a small company, we have very few overheads. We try and include as much as we can into the expedition price so that you know how much the trip is going to cost you. Before you sign up, we encourage you to ask as many questions as you like so that there are no hidden surprises further down the line.

We believe that through the training weekends, thorough briefings and an experienced leader team, we provide you with the best possible chance of success on your expedition. Whilst we cannot promise that you will reach the top - we can guarantee you an incredible expedition experience and the chance to “live the dream”.
