Kilimanjaro is JCG Expeditions specialism. With meticulous planning, an enjoyable and informative training weekend and a friendly personal service before takeoff, team members feel ready and prepared for their adventure up the highest mountain in Africa! We know that a lot of company’s offer Kilimanjaro climbs but we hope to offer an unrivalled experience where you really feel a part of the expedition from the start to the summit!

“I absolutely loved my experience of Kilimanjaro.  The team I went up with, from individual members to the porters and guides were terrific. Given half the chance I would definitely do this trip again!”
David Ashton, Kilimanjaro

JCG Expeditions chooses to climb via quieter routes, either on a 7 or 8 day climb.  These incredibly beautiful scenic routes recieve much less traffic than the other routes and taking 7 or 8 days hugely increase your chance of summit success!

For exmaple: Our 8 day trek passes the Lemosho route crossing the entirety of the plain from west to east in a pleasant, relatively flat hike. An added bonus is that climbers will encounter low traffic until the route joins the Machame route. Afterwards, Lemosho follows the same route through Lava Tower, Barranco and Barafu, known as the southern circuit. Descent is made via the Mweka route.

Mt Kilimanjaro is a unique mountain in the heart of Tanzania, Africa. Erupting out of the beautiful African planes Kilimanjaro reaching a height of 5895m – the highest point in Africa, and the highest free standing mountain in the world!!

The trek up Kilimanjaro takes you on a journey from tropical jungles to forest and open savanna and finally into Alpine/Arctic terrain. As you climb higher each day your surroundings constantly change until finally you reach the summit and the roof of Africa – Uhuru Peak 5985m.
